Fortress Vladivostok

Marine Fortress Vladivostok was build between

1878 and 1918. It is the last marine fortress, ever being built. It was constructed by the best russian engineers in the rules of european art of fortification.

Fortress Vladivostok is a complex of more than

100 monuments, organized into huge fortified area

of 400 square kilometers. It is located on the edge

of the continent, exposed to China and Japan.

By the beginning of WW I Fortress Vladivostok considered to be the best marine fortress in the world. It is the fortress on the top of european art of fortification, extreme east of the continent, the last marine fortress in the world, 'The Last Fortress'.

In 100 years Fortress metamorphosed from functional military monument into a unique 'Land Art' object.
